Crowd Viewing the Vision of the Arts Sculpture

The "Vision of the Arts" is a destination sculpture that will increase the awareness and visibility of the arts, and play a vital role in the economic development of downtown Garland.

Vision of the Arts

In October 2014, the Garland Cultural Arts Commission, Inc. appointed a Visual Arts Committee to search for an artist to design a unique bronze expression of their vision: a diverse community in celebration of dance, music, theatre and the visual arts. After an extensive search, renowned Dallas artist Barvo was selected to create the piece. The 2.5-ton bronze masterpiece stands 18 feet with a base of 8 feet in diameter and rests at the newly designed entry to the Granville Arts Center.

The Sculptor

Barvo has commissioned works of art in both public and private collections throughout the United States, as well as in countries such as:

  • Canada
  • Egypt
  • England
  • Mexico
  • Republic of China

Barvo’s art has appeared in "Southwest Art", "Architectural Digest", "The Robb Report" and "American Artist." One of Barvo’s signature pieces is the "Goddess of Liberty" statue atop the State Capitol in Austin, Texas.
